Dragon's Tale

We turned up for our round just as they opened on a Thursday and were the first ones to play. The course superintendent at the front desk provided us each a club. I insisted on returning the one I was given for a longer one. My performance would have suffered with the putter I was originally provided which the superintendent should have deduced from my height. I got the distinct impression he was not fully invested in my success on the course. We at first were unable to locate the cup on hole #1. We then realized we were in the mirror maze. Once we reached the actual first tee my children began the round, followed by my wife, and then myself. While my wife is best known for hitting her ball out of play, suprisingly she took the early lead with a birdie on #1 as we all made par. After the first three holes my wife and I were tied at -1, while double bogeys for both my tween and teen children put them 3 off the lead. Over the rest of the front nine I began to showcase my putting prowess and dominated my wife and children. At the turn my -6 score far eclipsed my wife at +1, and my children at +4 and +6. Hole #10 is where things got interesting. My wife's errant putt left the playing surface and landed on the hole behind us where another grouping was in play. I scolded my wife for her poor etiquette and apologized to the grouping behind us for breaking their concentration. Although their 5-year-old was able to recover from the shock and make birdie. Fortunately the course marshall was not present to issue her a penalty or remove her from the course. My brilliance was on display with my third straight birdie, in what would grow to become a string of eight consecutive birdies. The back nine proved no match for our skills. Everyone in our grouping racked up birdie after birdie, and an eagle for my tween child on #14 to pull ahead of her sibling. Unfortunately the pressure got to her and she triple bogeyed #16 after several failed attempts to get her ball in the elevator. Bogeys on #17 and #18 brought her back to earth to finish in a tie at +6 with my teen. #16 was the only hole on the back nine I did not birdie on my way to shooting an incredible -14 round of 39. The superintendemt was unable to tell my if it was a course record. But it was an incredible round that left my wife and children far out of contention. The sound effects and artwork were enjoyable. Although the course design was a bit monotonous and not challenging for my amazing skill level. The greens fees were high for what the course offered, especially considering the putter I was originally provided from the pro shop. OK overall.

Such a cool vibe! I love the theme throughout the course. Glow in the dark! They also have a mirror maze we didn't check out but definitely will be back to do so.

It's a fun mini golf. The dragon adventure theme is really cool. It's dark with the glow of black light and neon. If it is busy know it can take an hour to get though. Some holes have neat features that can slow the game. They are definitely fun but during busy days they become a bottle neck for groups.

This is a very family friendly (read easy) course that I'd recommend for anyone looking for a unique experience. The artwork is fantastic and really enhances the experience. Its a pretty easy course, with each hole mimicking the previous hole, but we were still entertained. We had several ages with us playing, and it was fun for all of us (ages 50 down to 10). The blacklight aspect really enhances the experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The mirror maze, while very easy, is super fun for little kids and we enjoyed our brief go through there too.

The course offered a generally simplistic design backed with some greens that proved to be quite a challenge. Started off strong as my impeccable miniature golf skills shined on the first 9 of the course, while my girlfriends did not… she showed early on in the course that she rather send the ball off the greens instead of trying to get it in the hole (whether this was intentional or not I rather not find out) however as the golf went on her skills succeeded where mine failed but the beautiful scenery of the glow in the dark orcs and goblins and other whimsical creatures gave me the motivation to continue golfing even after my skills began to falter in the back 9 of this course. All in all its a great course if your looking for a fun time full of mythical glowing dwarves who stare at you as you shoot an atrocious double bogey on a rather easy par 3… only thing that would’ve made the experience better is if my girlfriend hadn’t have beaten me by shooting a far better round than I did. 5 stars!
