Great hidden gem! Staff was amazing and the carrot cake was wonderful. Make a quick detour for your favorite java. The latte was the morning kick I needed. Support local shops like this in the neighborhood. Cheers.
When I first came here with my girlfriend, it was on a freezing cold -30 day in February. Boxcar is sort of North Edmonton so I thought it would be annoying to get to, but we drove through the cutest little neighbourhoods, pointing out adorable little houses and imagining how we’d live in a house like that like that one day. We parked and it was so quiet, we could just hear the snow squeaking under our feet and each other breathing. It felt like we were on some sort of holiday to the mountains, the way the wind was so still and how the neighbourhood felt so secluded. The café was packed, people were studying, doing crossword puzzles and chatting, but it wasn’t too loud. We ordered a flight, and every drink on the flight was so banger. Our favourites were the mocha and the chai. I distinctly remember the chai being pleasantly spicy, and the whip cream on the mocha being delicious. The atmosphere was very nice, there was lots of natural light, and the walls were painted a lovely shade of green. We did have to wait for a table, but we waited for no longer than five minutes. I’ve been back a few times around 2-3pm and every time we had to wait for a table, so expect it to be packed. I highly recommend this place, I have nothing but fond memories. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Stopped in for some coffee and lunch to-go as we were heading to a nearby park to play. Location was perfect but parking is a bit slim. The flat white was delicious and the grilled cheese was super cheesy and with chips on the side definitely an easy lunch on the value side. Outside and inside seating available and very cozy. Staff was not overly engaging and just pleasant. A friendly welcome could go a long ways. But I give 5 stars for the amazing coffee and cozy atmosphere.
Wow!!!!!! I cant speak any more highly about this place ♡ I was greeted with such a warm hello and such great service. I was recommended the London fog Tres Leches and one of the customers said they were ordering their second serving as we spoke! I was so excited to try it! I ordered the tres Leches, a vanilla latte and a croquet monsieur sandwich. When it came out, it had to take a picture of the cake!!! What a beautiful work of art and HOLY smokes the taste!!!! It was amazing!!! I can't explain how they clearly understood how to get.both London fog and their tres Leches cakes to blend into this fabulous concoction, but they truly did!!! And the latte was on another level as well. I can't even describe their chipolte aioli dip with their chips, it was probably one of the best dips I have ever had! Everything came out gorgeous and hot! I feel so lucky to have been able to stop by !!! Seriously, don't just walk here, Run♡♡♡!!!
I love the atmosphere of this café. It’s tucked away on a quiet street, has nice outdoor seating, and the shop itself is beautiful. That said, the coffee is what matters most, and unfortunately it falls short. The cappuccino was thin and lacked the sweetness and richness you expect from properly steamed milk. I also ordered an espresso and specifically asked for it in a ceramic cup, but it still came in plastic. I could indeed smell the plastic, which made the whole experience feel cheap — and I’d rather not have microplastics in my drink.
