We attended the Mother’s Day brunch at Northeast River Valley Park catered by Sawmill Banquet & Catering and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked into the breathtaking timber-beam hall, it was clear this was going to be a very special event. The room was elegant yet warm and welcoming, with beautifully set tables and an atmosphere that felt relaxed and polished at the same time. What truly set this brunch apart was the incredible organization and attention to detail. They even provided guests with a buffet “map” outlining every station and feature — from omelette and carvery stations to salads, desserts, gluten-free/vegan options, and even the chocolate fountain and ice cream sundae area. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience seamless despite the large crowd. You could tell this event was planned with care and professionalism. The food quality was exceptional. Every station was beautifully presented and constantly refreshed. The dessert display looked like something from a luxury wedding reception — elegant, colourful, and almost too beautiful to eat. The variety was impressive, with options for keto, gluten-free, diabetic, and vegan guests clearly labelled and easy to identify. For a buffet, the quality was genuinely outstanding. The staff were professional, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Having team members stationed at each buffet area who could answer questions about ingredients and dietary needs made such a difference. Tables were cleared quickly, coffee service was efficient, and at no point did guests feel rushed. The service felt gracious and welcoming from beginning to end. A special thank you to Paul, the manager, whose presence throughout the event did not go unnoticed. He was visible, courteous, organized, and clearly committed to ensuring guests had a wonderful experience. That leadership showed in every detail of the brunch. The added features — including the omelette station, carvery station, chocolate fountain, photo booth, and spectacular dessert tables — elevated the entire experience and made it feel truly memorable and festive. This was one of the best catered brunch events we have attended in Edmonton. Sawmill Banquet & Catering delivered excellence in food, hospitality, presentation, and organization.

The Easter Standard feast package with turkey, was delicious and so well organized, easy to heat up and serve my guests from out of town! We had a busy weekend and I needed a meal for 10! Everything tasted fresh and had loads of flavour:) I will definitely choose Sawmill catering the next time, and I wouldn’t hesitate to share and recommend them to friends, family and acquaintances. Having Sawmill cater our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! Not only was the food absolutely incredible (and we had countless guests comment on how impressed they were with the food), but their incredible organization, responsiveness, and overall professionalism truly made for an exceptional experience. We felt extremely cared for and taken care of every step of the way. Not only does Sawmill have a great selection of services and foods to choose from, but they accommodated any and all requests and dietary restrictions to ensure our wedding dinner felt personalized and memorable. We truly can't say enough good things about Paul and everyone at Sawmill and can't wait to taste their delicious food again in the future, as we will be sure to work with them again for many upcoming special events!

Paul was amazing to deal with! He was quick to answer my emails and accommodated everything to our needs and wants! Day of wedding went smoothly and the food was excellent! We recieved many compliments about the food! I was shocked to see him stop by to make sure everything was running smoothly! Dear Paul, Now that we’ve had a chance to catch our breath after the wedding, I wanted to take a moment to personally thank you and your entire catering team. From start to finish, they exceeded every expectation we had. I especially want to recognize Monette. She was, without question, the most incredible event manager we could have hoped for. From the very beginning she was organized, calm, responsive, and such a pleasure to work with. She made the entire planning process so much easier, and on the wedding day she handled everything so seamlessly that we never had to worry about a thing. What has really stood out to us over the last couple of days is that nearly every guest has commented on how exceptional the catering and service were. We have received countless compliments, and I wanted to share just a few with you: “Hi Danni. We had SUCH a good time!! Your wedding was so beautiful, thoughtful and heart-warming. Your family and friends are really, really lovely. The food was amazing—we’ve never had a better meal at a wedding. So good.” “Omg that food and presentation of the food was amazing!!! The bartenders were so fast and made really good drinks—not the watered-down ones you sometimes get at weddings! They even took the time to garnish the drinks with limes and lemons. Loved it all!!” The food itself deserves a standing ovation. The steaks were cooked beautifully, the chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful, and all of the accompanying dishes were absolutely delicious. Not only did everything taste amazing, but the presentation was outstanding. So many of our guests commented on how elegant and appetizing the buffet looked. It truly looked like a five-star dining experience. The late-night supper was another huge hit. After a night of celebrating and dancing, it was exactly what everyone needed, and our guests absolutely loved it. It was the perfect way to end the evening. One comment in particular really touched me because it perfectly reflects the professionalism of your team. During our ceremony, Monette realized the charcuterie table would be in the way afterward. Without interrupting a single moment, she coordinated eight staff members to literally lift the entire table and move it while we were exchanging our vows. Not one of our 150-plus guests noticed it happening. That level of foresight, teamwork, and execution is simply remarkable. I had absolutely no idea she did this my event coordinator told me! That story says everything about Monette. She anticipated problems before they became problems, and she handled them so effortlessly that we were completely unaware. That is the mark of someone who truly excels at what they do. I also want to recognize the wonderful lady who was in charge of the bar. Unfortunately, I can’t remember her name, but she deserves just as much praise. She was incredibly attentive to Simon and me all night long. If she noticed either of us was down to our last sip while we were out on the dance floor, she would come right over with another drink before we even had to ask. It was such a thoughtful touch, and it made us feel so well looked after. She was absolutely fantastic, and I hope you can let her know how much we appreciated her outstanding service. Please pass along our heartfelt thanks to Monette, the bar supervisor, the chefs, the kitchen staff, the servers, the bartenders, and every member of your team. Every single person contributed to making our wedding day absolutely perfect. We will be recommending Sawmill Catering to everyone we know without hesitation.
