Louise is the epitome of caring for the community. I’ve had the pleasure of working with her to provide students with “boxing for mental health” programming and it was SO amazing. Her compassion, energy, and genuine care for humans are the backbone of everything she does. Our students were able to find a safe space to just “be”, no matter what that looked like. They were able to make friends, move their bodies, and find empowerment through fitness in a non-conventional setting. If you’re looking for a place to workout, learn new skills, or find a sense of belonging without judgment, Louise is the woman for you! Thank you for all that you do. 💕
Westchester Boxing has great trainers, great energy, great space great equipment and awesome people. Best spot to learn the boxing lifestyle in Edmonton!
I’ve visited boxing gyms in Toronto, Canada and Liverpool, UK, but I will admit that Westchester is the best boxing gym I’ve ever visited in my life. The coaches are meticulously attentive to technical details and work towards refining your boxing skills. Thank you for the experience and I look forward to being a part of the club!
Beautiful people, Louise and Leo are fantastic trainers. Their new hire Cody is also doing so well. One day he will be a great coach. Awesome family run gym.
Words cannot express how much I love this place. They give valid advice based on one's body type/fight style. Being an anxious person, I always get nervous when sparring. However, Leo and Louise are able to calm me down and make me feel capable and worthy of being there, and give useful advice while sparring. Since I am new to the sport, I am aware that I am not great. However, after a sparring session that I am particularly proud of, they celebrated me and seemed genuinely happy with how I did. I think that is helpful regarding one's growth in the sport. They also know just how much to push or console a person. Not only have these people taught me how to box, they also taught me valuable lessons that are useful and valid in life and in growing one's self esteem. The boxers who train there are wonderful as well; they help me out and make me feel welcome. They correct my mistakes without sounding too critical or judgmental. I strongly reccomend this place, for I think it is suitable for everyone!
