I came to Southwest Smiles not quite a year ago. I was referred to them by a denture clinic here in Edmonton. After a bad experience with a periodontist who missed a tooth with a cracked root that was infected and abscessed I found Dr Susoeff. He found the problem, treated and cleaned up that tooth for me. He and his staff did a great job! I always knew what was being done, the cost of the procedures and the aftercare that would be needed. I have had a few procedures done at Southwest Smiles now and will again. I appreciated the transparency in the office. Also knowing that Dr. Susoeff is very knowledgeable about what he does and he is very good at it!

I have to say, I’ve never encountered service as exceptional as what I experienced at the Southwest Smile Clinic. When I walked through their doors, I was in extreme discomfort; I had a fishbone lodged in my throat that caused me significant pain. I had already visited three different dentists prior to this, hoping to find relief, but unfortunately, none of them were able to assist me. Instead, each of those dental professionals referred me to various specialists, which only prolonged my suffering as I waited for a solution. It truly felt like an emergency situation, and I couldn’t bear the thought of waiting any longer for assistance. That’s when I stumbled upon the Southwest Smile Clinic. From the moment I stepped inside, the staff sprang into action. They were incredibly responsive and sympathetic to my predicament. Doctor Aqib Shiraz was quick to assess my situation and wasted no time in providing the help I desperately needed. With remarkable efficiency, he managed to remove the fishbone in just a matter of seconds, providing me with almost immediate relief. What truly stood out to me was not just the expertise of Doctor Shiraz, but also the compassion demonstrated by the entire team at Smile Dental. Each staff member went above and beyond to ensure I felt cared for during my visit. To add to my gratitude, my insurance did not cover my dental plan, which usually would have been a cause for concern. However, in an extraordinary display of kindness and goodwill, they chose to help me without charging a single cent. It was a heartwarming reminder that there are still incredibly compassionate individuals in this world. I am immensely grateful for the support and care I received from Doctor Aqib Shiraz and his incredible team. I wholeheartedly recommend the Southwest Smile Clinic to anyone in need of dental care. Their commitment to their patients truly makes a difference, and I am thankful to have learned that there are still caring people who are willing to extend a helping hand when it is needed most. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💫💫💫💫💫💯/💯

I had a good experience here. She was professional, caring and detailed. Also as always, you want to find out from your insurance company first, what is covered and what is not covered before getting any work done, and as always you want to be clear what you want to pay or not. Before my appointment, I found out all of those information before showing up and that there won’t be any surprises. The administrators were helpful and easy to navigate with my billing, and I was clear about what I want and don’t want. They made it easy. Just about communicating between clients and the clinic.

After being a patient of this clinic for over 8 years, we have decided to terminate their services for dishonesty. Their services are great for having appointment reminders, confirming your appointments, and being on a short list cancel. We were offered something a little earlier an notified of a cancellation. Although 15 minutes later calling southwest smiles back, the appointment was already taken. But if a rebooking is needed due to shortage of dentist, hours of operation change, rebooking you as a result, running a pre determination through your insurance and then showing up for your appointment after receiving multiple text messages your date and time being told we can’t find your appointment, something doesn’t add up Evidence can be provided. I see they tried to offer an appointment 4 hours later but obviously we have other commitments to attend. But that too had me puzzled…..with a clinic that claims to be solidly booked have an appointment all of a sudden 4 hours later? It’s very suspicious and someone cancelling that fast an appointment given we waited over 4 months to get in….the recommendation that this clinic suggested for our hygiene. I told them that we will stop coming here because of the lies. As the receptionist says oh we are a private clinic with 6000 plus patients anyways so if you don’t want to come back, not a loss cause. Hmmmmm….8 years my family going to them for their services and thrown out like a piece of garbage? I would be more than happy to provide all the evidence to anyone that the appointment that all of a sudden got cancelled showing texts and even on a printed invoice too which clearly states all future appointments. They claim they have 6000 plus patients but if everyone had appointments mysteriously cancelled, would they still have the same amount of patients? We put a lot of trust in the dentists there as well as hygienists and the attitude of the receptionist being cocky and arrogant about the clinic having 6000 plus patients was ludicrous.

I have been a patient with Southwest for over 7 years and I am very disappointed with their scheduling practices. During my appointments, I like to prebook in advance because weekends tend to book up quickly. But I’ve noticed over the last few years, they have cancelled on me multiple times with short notice, which is unacceptable because now I have to wait another 3 months for a weekend appointment! I was told the Sunday schedules are never guaranteed and is out of their control, which I doubt because shouldn’t the staff schedule be made well in advance to ensure you have proper staffing especially on weekends? I understand if someone called in sick or there is an emergency but this has happened many times and it’s beyond frustrating. Edit: 16April - Leslie had reached out and provided a reasonable and satisfactory explanation for the cancellation due to a sudden and unexpected staffing shortage. Fortunately, a spot opened up and I received a text yesterday to move my appointment up from June to a week ahead of my original appointment. I appreciate the transparency as the entire team is trying their best to navigate the increased workload and while still accommodating Sunday patients.
