We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Barbacoa. The service was Fantastic! The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about creating a great experience. The food was brilliant! Beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and exceeded expectations. The wine recommendation was spot on and paired perfectly with our meal. One of the best meals I’ve had in Alberta. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an incredible local meal with exceptional service.

Barbacoa delivers an unforgettable fine dining experience from the moment you walk through the doors. The atmosphere is elegant, warm, and beautifully designed, creating the perfect setting for a special evening. The staff were attentive, professional, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the entire night. Our server Mr BK (not sure that’s his real name) and the manager Ms Ellen made us feel welcome a BIG thank you. The food was absolutely exceptional. Every dish was presented like a work of art and packed with incredible flavor. The steak man son ordered was perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned to perfection, while the chicken and seafood 🦞 that my wife and I ordered was equally impressive. You can truly taste the quality and care that goes into every plate. See pictures added. The cocktails and wine selection perfectly complemented the meal, and the dessert was the perfect ending to an amazing dining experience. I wish I could have given a higher rating on this location as it truly deserves. If you are looking for a top-tier fine dining restaurant for a date night, celebration, or simply an unforgettable meal, Barbacoa is a must-visit. Highly recommended — easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had.

One of my favourite restaurants in the Edmonton area. I've been here twice and both times the food was phenomenal! I had the 14oz ribeye topped with the cowboy butter (bone marrow n' butter), which you cant go wrong with. Their pork chop and smoked chicken with gnocchi are also solid choices. Smoked meatball was best meatball ive ever had. Service was great, but the wait time between appetizers and meal was a little longer than expected, but the food made up for it. Looking forward to trying the rest of their menu!

An incredible dining experience at Barbacoa. It truly felt like a Michelin-star level meal without the outrageous pricing. Went out with friends and were warmly welcomed by Kiana, who provided exceptionally courteous and attentive service throughout the night. The food was outstanding—every steak was perfectly dry-aged and cooked exactly to order, with a deliberate char that added amazing depth of flavor. Each cut was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The cozy ambiance makes it an ideal spot for a night out or a special occasion. Highly recommend.

I’ve always enjoyed Barbacoa and chose it to celebrate my birthday this year, which made the experience all the more disappointing. The food itself was very good. The tomahawk steak was cooked beautifully, especially with the cowboy butter, and the complimentary birthday cheesecake was a thoughtful touch. Unfortunately, the service leading up to our reservation left a sour first impression. When I booked, I specifically requested a low table. About 30 minutes before our reservation, while we were already over 20 minutes into our drive, I received a call advising that the request couldn’t be accommodated. It was disappointing to only find this out so close to our booking. We were also disappointed to discover that the half chicken has been removed from the menu. One of the things that always set Barbacoa apart was having excellent options beyond steak. We had specifically been looking forward to ordering some of our favourite dishes, and it’s a shame to see them gone. The tomahawk could also benefit from a few more vegetable accompaniments, as it felt a little light considering the price. For a dinner that came to around $400, I expected an experience that matched the price point. While the quality of the food was strong, the seating issue and menu changes meant the overall experience didn’t feel like the value it once did and we ended up eating pizza when we got home instead of eating more. 👀😅 I hope Barbacoa takes this feedback on board because we’ve genuinely enjoyed dining here over the years and would love to see it return to the exceptional experience we remembered.
