This is the best value-for-money donair restaurant I’ve been to! We only paid $27 for a “small” donair poutine, but it looked more like a large at most other restaurants. The beef donair wrap was huge too! My boyfriend and I were both starving before we came here, and the portions definitely didn’t disappoint. We were so full that we couldn’t even finish the poutine and ended up taking the rest home. The only downside I could think of is that the restaurant seems a bit run-down, but the food and portion sizes more than make up for it. We’ll definitely be coming back! Next time, we might ask for a little less meat in the wrap since it was mostly meat with very few veggies - not really a complaint tho we just prefer a more balanced wrap. Overall, it was so worth it!
I remember eating my first donair when I was five. I've been eating my share of Donair since. 45 years later. Then Famous Donairs. This place is in the top 3 places so far in my lifetime. It's among the best from East to West. Also tried the crispy chicken burger. It's also uniquely good. A unique creation from this place. It's worth trying is you like chicken burger.
Always excellent service, food, portions, price and atmosphere. The Fajita Sandwich is my favourite, like I would eat it everyday for the rest of my life favourite! The Deluxe Poutine is incredible, the Greek Salad is so fresh and delicious, the Chicken Shawarma melts in your mouth. 5 Stars, I recommend to everyone!
Absolutely delightful experience. I was awestruck by the portion sizes of their regular sized donair for their price, and even more impressed by the flavours and perfected ingredient ratios. The pita was bursting with meat, lettuce, tomatoes and onions, all fresh and coated in their signature sweet sauce. Me and my father dined in and were received by friendly, courteous staff who brought our food to our table on real plates—a pleasant surprise that I did not expect. The onion rings were superb, crispy and golden brown with a batter that didn’t overpower the flavour of the onions whilst still bringing a rich, browned butter like flavour to each mouthful. The atmosphere was casual but welcoming. I felt welcome there. Yet another factor that impressed me was how they prepared the packaging of the donairs. This may sound over the top, but believe me when I say that the plastic bag that comes over your donair to use as a sauce-catcher is ingenious and very, very necessary. Thanks to that bag I escaped a sea of delectable sauce filling my plate and possibly running down my hands and arms. They also provided us with plentiful napkins, all of which we used. Good food is always messy, and the Famous Donair seems to be acutely aware of this. 10/10 experience. Will dine again.
I have travelled the world and eaten in more places than I can count, and I can confidently say this is the best donair I have ever had. The flavor is unreal, perfectly seasoned meat, fresh ingredients, and a sauce that somehow balances everything just right. Every bite is packed with consistency. This isn’t just a great local spot, it’s genuinely world class. I’ve had donairs and similar dishes across different countries and nothing comes close to what they’re doing here. If you are even thinking about trying this place, do it. Once you do, every other donair is going to be compared to this one, and most will fall short.
