We visited Hathaway's Diner in St. Albert on Dec. 21st and was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, service and food. Apparently, this location has been opened since Aug. 2024 and we had not heard about it for some reason... It is a small location however we enjoyed it due to the smaller number of people there that day. The chairs are too small and not very comfortable and each time the door was opened, cold air flooded in, so it made it very uncomfortable. Our server was great! She was very friendly and quick to take our orders. Coffee was good! The food was prepared very quickly and served very hot! My wife had a Benny with a very thin turkey sausage patty, and I had a Corned Beef Hash Skillet. The Turkey Sausage Benny lacked taste, but the homemade hashbrowns were very nice and the hollandaise sauce was flavorful. The Corned Beef hash was a smaller serving than I was expecting, but it was flavorful. There was a small slice of bread included that was not really toasted or buttered. Overall, I was more impressed with this location than the original location and will certainly go back again in the near future. I will post the 2 pictures I took of our food.
Stopped in for lunch with my Family and we were so glad we did! Hathaway’s has that classic diner charm, the décor feels nostalgic and homey, and the natural lighting gives the whole place such a warm and inviting vibe. We shared one of their famous pies (because how can you not?!) and it was perfect fresh, flavourful, and definitely worth the visit on its own. Lunch was delicious, the service was friendly, and everything felt made with care. If you’re looking for a comfortable spot for a great meal with that “just like home” feeling, Hathaway’s Diner is a must-try. Highly recommend! Oh and I’d like to add they have a Kids & Senior menu, very thoughtful. Will come back! 📸 Here are a few photos from our lunch!
Came in today around 2pm. It was chilly in the restaurant. One waitresses and there was about 6 tables. Food was pretty good. Not very hot. Hashbrowns needed to be cooked longer but they were tasty. I heard the table next to us say to her food wasn't hot. I paid $4 for glass of pop and no refills. Well not sure if they are refills as she didn't ask us if we wanted any refills. Honestly the waitress didn't seem very happy about being there today..
The food was FANTASTIC! The staff was AMAZING!! We have not been here before, as it is a ways out there for us. But we will Definitely be back! Had a lovely time, thank you to the staff for such a great time!
We had breakfast a few days ago. Reception was good, including provision of menus and initial drinks (coffee and orange juice). Service was good, professional and friendly. The juice and coffee were good - the coffee was a flavourful medium roast. We had the regular two egg breakfast with sausage, and an order of stuffed French toast. The meals were big. The service was great. We much recommend Hathaways in St. Albert for breakfast.
Keep exploring
