We stopped in for dinner on our first visit and left impressed. The interior is simple, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with dim lighting that creates a relaxed and intimate dining atmosphere. We ordered the Beef Tataki, Yam Tempura, several fresh tuna dishes, and the New Style Roll. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Service was also excellent. Erika was friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout our meal. There are still plenty of menu items we'd love to try, so we'll definitely be back. A great first experience, and I would happily recommend this spot to anyone looking for quality Japanese cuisine and great service.
I had a wonderful experience at Japonais! The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and atmosphere of the restaurant is modern. The sushi was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The highlight of the evening was definitely the dessert—it was absolutely amazing and the best part of our meal! It was the perfect way to end a fantastic dining experience. Overall, great food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality cuisine in Windermere!
I love this place and honestly find myself coming back for most special occasions. The ambiance is beautiful and inviting, and the creamy lobster udon is a standout, I highly recommend it, especially if you enjoy rich, creamy dishes. Their bento boxes are also a great option if you’re feeling indecisive, as they offer a bit of everything in one meal. I would strongly recommend making a reservation. I’ve been here many times, and it’s easy to underestimate how busy it gets. Service has always been good overall. There have been a few occasions where things were a bit slow during rush hours, but that’s understandable given how busy it can get.
Delicious food, but such slow service! It was busy on a Sunday for lunch, but it took awhile for a server to even acknowledge us and get drinks ordered. Also, our appetizer came out last...? Which we didn't care, but kind of odd. The food amazing though. Highly recommend the pressed sushi! I'd still go back!
One of my favorite restaurants in Edmonton. Great Japanese food for a very affordable price. My best friend and I had the Premium Bento Box for lunch and it lived up to its name. The amount of food is good for 2. It has a sophisticated ambiance that makes it a great spot for a date lunch/night. I would love to come back to try out more food from their menu.
