Crispy, fast, fresh, and genuinely satisfying. Ralph’s Fried Chicken serves generous portions, friendly service, delicious chicken with that golden crunch you hope for, large crispy flavourful potato wedges, and meals that include a drink — a great Castle Downs stop for lunch, takeout, or group orders. For a fuller picture — Ralph’s Fried Chicken, Edmonton, Castle Downs / north-central area offers a clean, casual, and well-run fried chicken experience with quick service, fresh food, and portions that feel generous and satisfying. The chicken was the clear standout. It had that crisp, golden coating that makes fried chicken so enjoyable, with flavourful meat inside and a fresh, satisfying bite all the way through. We had the Big Ralph’s Burger with spuds and the 3-piece chicken strips with spuds, and both meals felt hearty, filling, and good value. The chicken strips were especially impressive — they looked like full chicken breasts, even if they weren't, and the portion made the meal feel complete. The spuds were another highlight. Large, crispy, and flavourful, the potato wedges had a satisfying texture and paired really well with the chipotle dipping sauce. The sauce added a creamy kick, bringing everything together nicely. Meals also include a drink, which makes the order feel even more complete for the price. Service was friendly, efficient, and attentive, and the ordering and pickup process felt smooth and organized. This is a strong option for a casual dine-in lunch, but it also works especially well for takeout, group orders, family meals, work lunches, or easy shared food. The chicken travels well, the portions are generous, and the food is simple in the best way: crispy, fresh, fast, and satisfying. The Castle Downs location is convenient for north-central Edmonton, and the downtown location looks enticing too.
Ralph’s Fried Chicken. Clean, organized, easy to settle into. Juicy, delicious fried chicken. Crisp outside, great flavour throughout. Excellent service: friendly, efficient, attentive. Well-run ordering and pickup. North-central Edmonton — Castle Downs location. Visited December 2025. Downtown location looks enticing too.
Delicious Fried Chicken. However, couple pieces on the 6 piece combo were too tiny. Spuds were warm but too soft, outer layer were falling off (Tried right away after picking up, did not preorder, my order wasn’t sitting there or anything). Tried the Spud last time and was crispy, but not this time.
Ralph's, this place cant be described with words. It was a terrible thing them being pushed out of strathern. I took my family here yesterday - first time ive been here in over 15 years. The same chicken, the same great service would highly recommend to anyone who likes fried chicken. My biggest suggestion.... would be to get it to go because its gonna be to hot to eat if you dine in. Lol we made that mistake. Burned the crap outta my mouth. Other then that. - still top notch as they day i was introduced to it 25 years ago.
Ralph’s fried chicken was suggested as part of the menu for my wife’s birthday dinner. To be honest, neither of us were really feeling fried chicken, but it was something our guests wanted, so we added it to the spread. I called in the order and picked it up later. The staff were incredibly friendly, and there was actually a mix up with my order. As I was walking to my car, the owner came out to let me know I had been given the wrong order and immediately refunded the difference. He was genuinely kind and incredibly nice throughout the whole interaction. That level of customer service really stood out. When we got home and dug into everything, the fried chicken was a huge hit. Crispy, flavorful, and exactly what great fried chicken should be. Later that night, I was telling everyone how good the food was and how nice the owner had been. Everyone who had been to Ralph’s before agreed and shared stories of nice things he had done for them as well. That says a lot about a business and the people running it. What started as something we weren’t very excited about ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. Great food, great service, and I’ll definitely be ordering from Ralph’s again
