I ordered from The Biryani Box expecting a restaurant that specializes in biryani to deliver a quality meal, but unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. The Chicken Biryani came with three large pieces of chicken (two drumsticks and a thigh), which sounds generous, but the dish itself was completely lacking flavor. For a restaurant whose name highlights biryani, I expected much better seasoning and authenticity. The Butter Chicken was equally disappointing. The sauce was incredibly watery and runny, with only a few pieces of chicken. Looking at the food when it arrived, it was hard to believe this was considered acceptable to send to a customer. The Sheekh Beef Kababs were overwhelmingly spicy to the point that they were difficult to enjoy, and the flavor did not make up for the heat. Even the Mango Smoothie, which I thought would at least be a safe choice, failed to meet expectations. What makes this even more frustrating is that the online ratings and reviews gave the impression that the food would be much better than what I received. Based on my experience, those ratings did not reflect the quality of the meal I was served. Overall, I am genuinely disappointed. The food was poorly executed, lacked flavor where it mattered most, and was not worth the price charged. I’m not sure how meals like this are sent out to customers. At this point, it feels like I would have been better off giving my money away than spending it on this order.
“I recently tried the mutton biryani from The Biryani Box, priced at $16.99 (with tax, it came to $18.11). Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The portion was overwhelmingly rice—probably 90%—with just two or three tiny pieces of meat. On top of that, the dish was extremely spicy. For $18, I expected a more balanced meal. Sadly, it was just a letdown overall. I would avoid coming to this location—there are other locations that are better.”
We ordered the full assorted meat platter, and it was absolutely delicious. Every item was perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and incredibly satisfying. The variety made it even better, and each meat stood out in its own way. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned, and we truly enjoyed every bite. Everyone at the table loved it, and it was a great experience overall. Highly recommended!
This is my 2nd review after a year of discovering the authentic Indian Biryani, I don't even care if it's 2nd, I want to give this fabulous team and it's restaurant geniuine accolades that they deserve in every way. It was a blizzard day yesterday we suddenly missed something traditional but out food, my family loves enjoying every item of Biryani Box, Edmonton especially when all of us are together. Bang! They prove us right over and over again, as always the food was top notch, the flavors and meat all cooked in the true spirit of the authentic Indian Biryani. And to add to the feast, the Tandoori chicken was like a cherry on the cake. Cheers for being so good even after a year you all have just mastered the quality to excellence. Super impressed. Thank you Team Biryani Box. BarakaAllahu Feekum..
Usually biryani will be good but this time it was too salty and too much colour on tandoori chicken. Colour doesn’t go off hand after washing multiple times. I placed order through their online portal and mentioned to be picked after 1 hour but service staff mentioned good was waiting for long and they made it in 20 min.
