Drove all the way from Wetaskiwin for my first visit to Virsa Sweets and it was absolutely worth every kilometre. The moment you walk in, the display case stops you in your tracks. Mango barfi, coconut ladoo, gulab jamun, balushahi, jalebi, coconut gulab jamun the selection is generous, fresh, and beautifully presented. Everything looked like it had been made that day, and after tasting it, I am confident it was. I ordered the bhature chole, paneer pakora, and gulab jamun. The bhature chole was exactly what you hope for fluffy, puffed bhature paired with rich, spiced chole that had real depth of flavour. The paneer pakora was crispy on the outside and soft inside, seasoned just right. The gulab jamun was freshly made, soft, and perfectly sweet. Not a single thing disappointed. What made the visit truly special were the two staff members working that day. Despite being busy, both girls were warm, attentive, and made every customer feel genuinely looked after. They even offered water, which was a lovely touch that you do not always see at a busy sweet shop. That kind of hospitality makes a real difference and speaks to the culture this place has built. Virsa Sweets is the real deal. If you have not been yet, make the trip - it is worth it from wherever you are coming from. Reviewed as a Google Local Guide

Its 100🌟 We visited Virsa Sweets & Restaurant on January 30th around 1:30 PM and had a wonderful experience. We ordered Pav Bhaji, Chhole Bhature, and Samosa — everything was very tasty and fresh. The server was extremely helpful and always smiling. I’m sorry I forgot her name, but special thanks to her for the great service. The chefs also came out to ask if everything was good, which we really appreciated. The food quantity was more than enough for the price, making it great value for money. Overall, excellent food, friendly staff, and great service. Highly recommended!

⭐ 0/5 Very disappointing experience We recently visited Virsa Punjabi Restaurant in Beaumont with a group of 5 people. We were extremely hungry, but unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing from start to finish. We ordered Shahi Paneer, Mix Veg, Raita, 3 Tandoori Rotis, 2 Garlic Naans, and Makki di Roti because one person in our group has a gluten allergy. We were told that Makki di Roti would take 40–45 minutes, while the rest of the food would take around 30 minutes. We were also told that they would prepare it as quickly as possible. We asked about tea and were told it would take around 10 minutes, so we agreed. Later, we were told they didn’t have Makki da atta, so we changed the order to rice. We waited patiently, but even after 30–35 minutes, our food finally arrived. By then, we told them not to bring the tea anymore, but they said it had already been poured into a cup. At that point, it simply didn’t make sense. Unfortunately, the food itself was also very disappointing. We had specifically asked for spicy food, but the Shahi Paneer had almost no flavour or spice—we could mainly taste cashews. The Mix Veg was extremely undercooked, to the point where the vegetables were difficult to chew. We politely mentioned this to the staff, and they laughed it off and said they would ask. Instead of properly addressing the issue, they asked if we wanted the same food again and then offered Dal Makhani. We agreed, but unfortunately, that was also very bland. There were some pieces of green chilli, but the dish itself had very little flavour. We also ordered a lassi, which was equally disappointing and lacked flavour. The Garlic Naans were extremely hard and crispy, almost like papad, rather than soft and fresh naan. Overall, it was a very poor experience considering the amount of time we waited and the money we spent. At the time of paying the bill, we also spoke to the staff at the counter and explained everything. They said they would speak with the chef, but no meaningful solution was offered. They mentioned that they had not charged us for the Dal Makhani, as if that was a favour. But honestly, if we had wanted Dal Makhani, we would have ordered it in the first place. We had already spent a lot of time waiting, and that doesn’t solve the problem of receiving food that was not up to the expected standard. Very disappointing experience overall. I personally would not recommend this restaurant based on our visit.
