Accidental Beach

Astounding views of the city. A wonderful place to have an in the city beach experience. The water is very murky and dubious downtown. But it's much nicer where the rocks are. Bring river shoes. You can buy at the dollat store! We always come down with chairs and a picnic. Watching the sunset is spectacular. We often see, The river boat going past.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Accidental Beach in Edmonton with my family, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by stunning views, and a sense of adventure. Accidental Beach is truly a hidden gem, perfect for families looking for a fun-filled day by the water. What impressed me the most was the access to the beach. It was exceptionally kids-friendly, making it easy for little ones to explore and play while parents can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. One of the standout features of Accidental Beach was the shallow water. It is ideal for families with young children who want to dip their toes or take a refreshing swim without worrying about deep waters. The shallow areas provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. The beach itself offers a picturesque setting, nestled along the North Saskatchewan River with soft golden sand spread out. It's an excellent spot to bask in the sun, build sandcastles, or have a leisurely stroll along the shoreline. Accidental Beach also offers some amenities to enhance your visit. Restrooms are conveniently located nearby, ensuring easy access for families. Furthermore, there are picnic tables and shaded areas where you can enjoy a packed lunch or simply relax and take in the breathtaking surroundings. I must not forget to mention that the beach is well-maintained, and the staff does an excellent job of keeping the area clean and safe for visitors. It was evident that they take great pride in ensuring everyone has a fantastic experience. Accidental Beach is gone! Because of river is high level and cover it

Right off the get go this place has no signs from the main road. Once you find the one way street parking is limited. No signs to get to the actual beach area. There is a steep ish hill to get to the beach (ropes in place to help ascend/descend). I would say a cool place to bring your furry friends and get some sun but nothing else. Not even porta-potties and definitely no swimming. The noise from the bridge construction isn’t terrible but it isn’t quiet either. Honesty it’s pretty bad imo.

It was beautiful out there which is also a wonderful for taking photos. Unfortunately, i came there alone so i didn't take any portrait photos. I'm absolutely going to come back someday soon. I would recommend you to ride a bus to get there as there is no parking lot, and the spots on the street are filled up quickly. Enjoy it !!
