Mood Cafe

We had drinks and treats on a Friday about 3 pm. It's on a pretty busy corner in Belgravia with angle parking for about 6-8 cars. It's a fairly large place with lots of inside tables and an outside patio, where we sat. Ordering is confusing. They have a till at the corner of the food/drink area, but no directions. There's an ice cream display and a pastry display. But ... customers seemed to just stand and wait to be recognized as wanting something, which wasn't necessarily quick if the two staff were busy prepping drinks. A "take a number system" would help, or a staffed till position. They have a really good selection of specialty pastries and good selections of drinks and coffees. They have a food menu also. We had a large Americano, a large hot chocolate, and a flat white. Sweets were a salted caramel chocolate tart and a caramel cake; these were excellent. The hot choc was OK and the flat white was rated excellent. The big fail was the Americano, which in a coffee shop should be top notch. Served in a big cappuccino cup, the first one was filled to overflowing (couldn't carry it without spilling) and had way to much cream (they add it). It was pretty tasteless so was returned for another, thinking the cream had too diluted it. This time, with less cream, it was still pretty tasteless - not as good as Tim's dark roast. A coffee shops espresso/Americanos should be marquee drinks! On the subject of cream, they have none at the small condiment station at the door for self-serve. When queried they said something about no refrigeration? The staff were friendly and appeared to be doing their best, but that didn't offset the shop's shortcomings. Great pastries, but not drinks. This is a neighbourhood coffee shop, not a destination. We can't recommend it unless it's a matter of convience only.

A great neighbourhood coffee shop tucked away in the middle of Belgravia, The coffee of course is excellent, they have a great selection of pastries and a good selection of ice cream. The space faces west so it gets lots of sun making it a pleasant place to sit whether inside or outside. There is plenty of seating both inside and. out. The Belgravia Sculpture Art Park is two blocks south making it a convenient spot to bring a take out coffee on a pleasant day.

Awesome little neighbourhood cafe tucked away in the U of A area. Couldn’t help myself and ordered a Vietnamese coffee, it was everything you want it to be and more! The array of treats also looks delicious!

Maybe it was a bad time to come in but we had a very mid experience. Me and some girlfriends came in and the service was good, nothing special, but we didn’t like how there were barely any drink options or food (probably because it was closing time). So we get our drinks and immediately we decide we don’t wanna eat here, I ordered a toasted marshmallow latte that tasted like quite literally espresso and water, and my girlfriends all ordered caramel and strawberry frappes; they were actually pretty good BUT they gave all my friends stomach aches.. don’t know what that was about. Maybe we’ll give this place another chance

Stopped by this café in a really calm neighborhood while out on a road bike ride, and it was exactly what I needed. Got an iced matcha on a hot day and it hit perfectly—refreshing, not too sweet, and really smooth. The whole place has a relaxed vibe, not rushed or noisy, which made it a nice break from being outside in the heat. Good spot to just sit, cool down, and reset for a bit before heading back out. Would definitely stop here again on future rides.
