I had been wanting to visit Anejo for quite some time after hearing great things from a friend, and yesterday we finally had the opportunity to stop by for lunch. Safe to say, it lived up to the recommendation. We started with the table-side guacamole, freshly prepared and served in a traditional molcajete. It was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious — the perfect way to begin the meal. I paired it with a Modelo Negra, while my wife ordered the Pineapple & Yuzu Ranch Water, which she confirmed was equally refreshing and excellent. For the main course, we shared the Classic 6x Tacos: 2 pork chorizo, 2 crispy fish, and 2 chicken tinga tacos. We also mixed things up with both corn and flour tortillas to try the full experience. Honestly, every taco was enjoyable, but if I had to rank them, the crispy fish and chorizo tacos were an easy 10/10 — packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and incredibly satisfying. The chicken tinga tacos were also excellent and easily a 9/10. The service made the experience even better. Our server, Ashley, was friendly, attentive, and an excellent host throughout the meal. The atmosphere, food, drinks, and hospitality all came together to create a genuinely enjoyable dining experience. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the setting. Anejo is definitely a must-visit spot, and it’s a place we would happily recommend to friends and family looking for great Mexican food, drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Went during happy hour and the tacos and drinks were amazing. The prices were very reasonable. It was pretty busy which gave the place a really good vibe. Amanda was our server and she was so sweet and amazing the whole time!
My partner and I, spontaneously went to check out this place. 1000/10 made our night. The fella that was our server helped us find items on the menu that are celiac ( flour in the kitchen) and pescatarian safe. The ambiance of the restaurant was welcoming and perfectspot to catch up with familyor friends. Both our dishes were remarkable. Shout out to the chefs for creating a legendary menu. Out of Luna Mexican and Julio's Barrio Mexican restaurant. Añejo restaurant is the best for price, expensive and quality of items. Thank you for continuing to make the brewery area proud.
Anejo blew my expectations out of the water! Looking at their menu online it sounded tasty 😋 and we decided to head over to Oliver Square to give them a try. Tons of parking and very little delays from the construction of the LRT. We were created with smiles, humour and felt like family. They recommended the patio and while the mainfloor looked comfortable, the sunshine and cool breeze upstairs was wonderful. I tried a Cherry Lime Margarita. It was tasty but next time I think I will go for the Strawberry Rhubarb. We started off with the Coconut Shrimp, I'm not sure if they were power lifting, as these are some of the largest I have ever seen (that were not giant prawns of course) Cooked perfectly with a tasty handmade in house pepper mayo that we had to pick up an order of when we left. The pork belly tacos were tasty, but could have been grilled longer to soften the fat. The beef dip tacos were incredible, deep fried and the au jus was magical. The star of the show was the guacamole made right at your table. You are missing out if you don't get the full size. It was fabulous. We had a bit of room left for churros and the Carmel spiced cinnamon sauce was to die for. Move over chocolate my churros need this sauce. Our waitress was phenomenal (Amanda) checking on us regularly but maintaining space. It felt like we were part of a team or family. Very inclusive and thoughtful. I have already asked when we are going back. See you soon!
Was pleasantly surprised !! Probably the best Mexican place I’ve been to in Edmonton so far. We had fresh guacamole made right in front of us along with real authentic Mexican corn chips, the coconut shrimp, which I highly recommend as well as the crispy fish tacos, and the braised beef tacos. Jenna even topped us up with more chips to finish up our guacamole! She provided excellent service and was a great waitress. I would recommend going here anytime. Oh, and some real kick ass margaritas🍹🍹🍤🍤🌮🌮
