The Other Place by La Patrona

A buddy of mine and I tried this place out this past weekend. We arrived just before the dinner rush and 15 minutes before Happy Hour was going to end so we enjoyed a couple lagers and ordered a starter of wings. Right after we finished the wings our polo burger and BLT came out. Buddy loved his BLT and I was impressed with the crispy mozza and spice on the polo burger. HUGE portions too. The restaurant is decorated well. If it were a hot summer day, I would have thought I was back in Mexico... and would have ordered a mojito! By the time we were ready to leave, the place was pretty busy. You can tell this is a well liked spot. The waitress was 100% friendly and helpful with selections, anticipated what we wanted, knew her drinks and specials. I will definitely be back here!

We loved the Mexican food, it was exemplary. The nachos were outstanding very fresh not baked the black bean added a wonderful touch. Drinks, there are so plenty of options to choose from, and it was all worth it. I would visit again with my family. It’s at a prime location and was jam packed for the 3 hours we spent there.

Over the years I have been here a few times and each time the food quality and service has been good. It has always been pretty busy. Especially on my last visit which was a Friday night. I would recommend booking a reso for weekend dinner time. They are a bit a mix for food offerings, tacos, pizza, and burgers are the majority of the menu. Beyond tacos you won’t find much other traditional Mexican cuisine. However, their pizzas, burgers, and other mains are definitely Mexican inspired. Everything tastes good so you won’t go wrong but it definitely is not a traditional Mexican restaurant.

Went out with friends to catch up and it was the perfect place. The other La Patra was full but this place is great and very big ! The food was way ahead of my expectations! We drove from Camrose and was worth the trip !

Ordered the tacos which were great, but I went last year and the portion sizes for the sides were way bigger. this time the rice portion was two bites. When I asked for more she came out with another portion size of a half spoon.
