Tried the Oxtail special, Jerk Chicken special, Jerk Chicken and Cheese Patty, and Beef Patty. All of them were absolutely delicious. The flavor profile of the patties is so delicious, and the pastry was moist and flaky. The portions were massive for the specials, each box is fully loaded. I was surprised with the generous amount of Oxtail that was given for the price.
I visited this located while visiting from Toronto. Service was okay, but the patties need work. The filling was very watery with more gravy than meat, so it was hard to tell the flavours apart. I also noticed reviews mentioning this almost a year ago, so it seems the issue hasn’t been fixed. The crust tasted more like a pizza pocket than an authentic Jamaican patty, and the colour was inconsistent. For the price — I paid approximately $100 for 18 patties — I expected a more traditional texture and more meat. I was told they were “premium,” but the quality didn’t match the cost. Gen X has potential, but improving the recipe, consistency, and value would make a big difference.
I've been on the search for really good beef patties for years (years....). Ever since I went to TO while ago (2008). I came in with my sister today because I saw a foodie review and was highly recommended. I bought 3 kinds of the fresh/hot and 6 of the frozen. For the fresh/hot I bought beef, curry chicken, and jerk chicken. My sister had the beef. I am telling you it's amazing. O.m.g I'm coming back.
I was craving authentic Jamaican Patties, my daughter discovered this gem on 118st (west of Kingsway). They also sell fresh (unbaked) frozen, so I could stock my freezer with these tasty meat filled pastries for quick flavourful lunches that I throw in the air fryer and bake. Small location, perfect order and go, Service was A+++
It was my first time visiting, and I was genuinely impressed. I ordered the cheesy beef patty and the curry goat patty with coco bread, and both were outstanding! Everything tasted fresh, perfectly baked, and full of flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The customer service was excellent, friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Overall, it was a great experience.
