Wonderful little coffee shop hidden away in Business park. Make sure you go upstairs if you want chill out as downstairs only has 3 tables. Barista’s were really friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to come try and it would be my neighbor place if I lived close by. As far as the craft of coffee and roasting, there is a lot of opportunities, speaking from a really snobby self-appointed coffee aficionado as my bar is really high comparatively. This is me being really extremely extremely picky. 99% people will not notice these issues. The filters didn’t remove as much of the coffee oils so coffee was a bit muddled flavor wise and produced a cup that wasn’t clean, and the use of plastic pour overs instead of ceramic which will effected the temps of the pour overs and I feel the extraction was affected I admit that could be in my head. That being said it thousands of miles above Starbucks and the like and I will be returning to enjoy another cup.
Awesome coffee shop. Small selection of the finest things. I had a pour over and gluten free brownie. The coffee flavor was complex. The brownie had geat texture and flavor. My husband had a dirty chai and cookie (which was soft and delicious). Lovely atmosphere for a sit down break. Friendly staff. If I lived nearby I would probably be a regular.
What a wonderful find in the industrial area of South Edmonton. A large space with lots of natural light. Simple setup. The coffee was great and they had a basic set of food offerings. Service was very friendly and helpful. It's so nice to have a high quality java stop over in this part of town. 4 x ☕☕☕☕
The matcha was really good and I enjoyed the food as well. That said, I did find the pricing a bit high, especially for something like the breakfast muffin, which was around $7. It felt a bit steep considering you can get something similar at places like McDonald’s or Starbucks for a few dollars less, and this one was more on the plain side and I would argue not healthier. The temperature inside was also a little too warm, which made it slightly uncomfortable to sit. Even with that, I would still come back. It is a nice spot to relax, and it works well if you are looking for a place to chill out or get some studying done. Definitely a place I would continue to support.
To sum up: If you are Celiac and order even just a coffee - "You pays your money, you takes your chances" --- Awesome . * At least* as good as my current favourite place (rogue wave). (see 2nd visit below: not Celiac safe) Second Visit update! TLDR: *Not* Celiac Safe - Came on a busier day (sat), two female baristas were working. I was waiting in line so I was watching them as they worked. The taller woman, picked up a cheese pastry (bagel?) with tongs, put it on a plate, then carried it to a toaster or press where she put it on with her bare hands. THEN she proceeded to make some espresso, touching the espresso handle thing, portafilter? The milk frother and carafe as well as the to-stay drink cups. This would have been enough for me to get seriously ill so I left. The coffee is so good it's a shame I can't go back - but maybe the staff can change procedures to have a dedicated person deal with the food or wear gloves when handling food and change/remove them when making coffee?
