Apparently, if your child is not seen in "X amount of time," they are no longer considered a patient and are booted from the patient list. How ridiculous. My two sons aged 4 and 2 have seen Dr.Benson since being born and upon calling today, I'm interrupted by the phone lady before I'm even finished speaking- which is a regular issue with them, asking for my sons name, just to be told he is no longer a patient. How does not seeing a child for a certain amount of time constitute no longer being a patient? Very disappointed as both my children and myself really liked Dr. Benson. Save your time and go somewhere else, if your child does not go to the doctors regularly, they will boot them as patients. EDIT: pretty sure their “very mature” staff there, go through these reviews personally, and “laugh” at all the bad ones. Just a hint, River Valley, would look much better and professional on your end to actually REPLY to negative feedback with a simple apology. Goes a much further way. Makes you look even worse than you already do after all the B.S you’ve put your current and former patients through. Also, after reading MANY, many of the same reviews regarding your very rude and unprofessional front desk lady- how does this lady even still have a job there? Seems she’s not cut out at all for her job!

If it was not for Dr. Leonard and how amazing she is, I would give this place a lower rating. My son has been going here for about 3 years now. He was referred by his oncologist, and we have absolutely loved Dr. Leonard. I have never experienced any issues here until yesterday. The lady at the front desk (older short haired one) absolutely ruined my day and my whole experience at this clinic. First, they don't greet the patients, which is so bizarre to me. It's CUSTOMER SERVICE, and second, her approach was very upsetting to me. The waiting area is so awkward that coming in with a wheelchair was a challenge itself. There is no handicap button to open the door, so i came in reverse in order to open the door and push the wheelchair in with my 7 year old. I was trying to get my son out of the chair and figure out where to park it, and we got the floor wet and dirty. I was telling her i didn't realize our shoes were so dirty, and she comes back at me saying something along the lines of "they're very dirty." That was the first thing that really irritated me. When we finished seeing our doctor, she said he could grab a sticker (he always gets a sticker after his appointments because he's come a long way from being absolutely terrified of doctors) so he was picking out stickers while I went to wipe up the wheelchair wet mess and I overhear her talking to my son about HOW MANY STICKERS HE PICKED OUT! She was negotiating with him to leave 3 stickers because he took 5! I understand those stickers are for all the kiddos, but C'MON! HES A KID! So I finished cleaning our mess and went to get my son, and he was upset. He really was excited about the Minecraft stickers and wanted to add to his collection. I tried to calm him down, but there was no negotiating with an upset child. The other lady that was answering the phones was so polite and sweet and she let him have the stickers and he was so happy. This lady (short hair, older) thought it was acceptable to make my child upset over stickers! My son has been through cancer, surgeries, radiation, and continuous issues, and if 5 stickers make him happy- then let him have the darn stickers. It is absolutely disgusting that people who work around children act like this. Now I have anxiety going back to see our doctors because I'm constantly thinking what if something like this happens again!

We absolutely love the staff and our Doctor and RVP. Both of my children have seen Dr Leonard for a number of years. I was sad when my son turned 18 that he had to move on. Now my daughter has turned 18 after decade of wonderful treatment it’s our final goodbye. Dr Leonard has always been patient and understating. She’s a very good listener and gets the full picture before she diagnoses or recommends treatment. The staff knew I was sad say goodbye, so they let this momma have a sticker and wished us well with kind words. It filled my heart. We have been so fortunate to have had such a supportive group of people as we navigated through physical, emotional and mental wellness. Thank you RVP for over a decade of fantastic treatment and trusted care. We will miss you.

This was my second time taking my 6 soon to be 7 year old son here to see Dr Benson. I will start off by saying she is GREAT absolutely love her. I feel like she really does care and really does do her best to find the best treatment option or referrals for my son. I find her to be very personable and kind. Now as far as the front desk staff that’s another story. If you are working at a place of business that specializes in children than I would expect your attitude and mood to reflect so. I found these individuals to be extremely un welcoming and rude.To be honest they could have cared less about us when we walked in. Didn’t even get a hi or a smile actually. Was treated with the same neglect when leaving also. I felt like the bloodwork requisition was basically thrown at us when we were leaving. No have a good day or nothing. Not sure why you would choose to work in an environment that’s basically all children and choose to have a such a negative Debbie downer attitude. Their front desk work definitely could use some attention that’s for sure.

Dr. Chybuk is kind and listens to your concerns. My issue are firstly if you can even find parking you must pay. Secondly, after visiting the pediatrician I tried to book their follow up appointments. The more elder lady behind the counter informed the doctor is unable to book appointments a year in advance for my one daughter. (Fine, I’ll accept that as being quite reasonable) my other daughter was scheduled for a follow up for 4 month time from now. I requested that the office remind me on the visit in 4 months time to book an appointment for my other daughter. The response I received from the woman at the counter was to put a reminder in my phone as it’s not their job to babysit me. So we return to trying to book the appointment 4 months from now for my daughter. The woman once again informed me that the appointment would fall in January and the doctor hadn’t released her schedule so she was unable to book an appointment, suggesting I put a reminder in my phone to do so. A bit taken off by her initial comment I advised her it is not my job to babysit her and shouldn’t have to babysit her. Perhaps a bit rude and childish on my part but you get what you give. My advice to her, if you’re that miserable and you feel it appropriate to interact with customers that way, perhaps you should consider retiring or consider being part of the team in a not front of the line role so to speak. As I said the practice is clean the doctor is great the receptionist could use a little work.
