Between 5 people, we were SUPER IMPRESSED. Note that i rarely give 5 star reviews and I didn't even want to come here because I don't like BBQ! I am writing this review on behalf of all 5 customers. We ordered brisket, whole smoked chicken, beef back ribs, backyard burger, brisket poutine, mac & cheese, caesar salad, coleslaw salad and smoked salad. Brisket: It was a huge serve which i am happy about as it was $42. It was so soft and tender it actually melts in your mouth. Whole smoked chicken: The whole thing including the breast was super tender, juicy and flavoursome. Backyard burger: Everything about the burger was amazing and customer said it was seriously the best burger he'd ever had. From the caramelised onion and mushroom to the bun, it was all perfectly cooked and delicious. Unfortunately i did not get a photo of the burger. Beef back ribs: They were tender and perfectly spiced. They were just delicious. Brisket poutine: It was decent apart from the gravy being too salty. Mac & cheese: Customer is often disappointed with mac & cheese from restaurants but not this one. It was full of flavour with lots of cheese sauce. Caesar salad: It was good and as someone who doesn't like mayo or salad, i didn't mind it either. Coleslaw salad: It was really good. It didn't have too much sauce, it was just the right amount of dressing. Smoked salad: i was expecting more vegetables like carrot, corn, broccolini etc. But it was mostly a bowl of peppers. It was still good for what it is though, very flavoursome but not spicy. Overall REALLY happy with this restaurant. It way exceeded our expectations which is very rare! We're almost always disappointed when going out to eat, and we have had BBQ several times before. It's worth the price, service is great and short wait time for food. Atmosphere is nice.
I recently took the family out to celebrate Arsenal's Premier league win at The Backyard Smokehouse and it was honestly a great experience from start to finish. The food portions were HUGE — definitely worth it, and everyone left full and happy. The quality of the food was excellent, full of flavour, and you could tell a lot of care went into the meals. The service was another highlight. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. Even with the restaurant being lively, they still made sure we were well taken care of. The atmosphere was also amazing — warm, relaxing, family-friendly, and perfect for a celebratory outing. It had a great vibe without feeling too crowded or noisy. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience and we’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good food, generous portions, and a great atmosphere in Edmonton!
We had a mixed experience overall. The food had some really great highlights, but the service could definitely be improved. The meat was flavorful and delicious, and most of the dishes we ordered tasted very good. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked and much more done than we had requested. It was quite tough, making it difficult to eat, which was disappointing considering everything else was so enjoyable. The service was where we struggled the most. The staff didn’t come across as very welcoming, and we felt a bit uncomfortable at times. We were seated right beside the exit door in a tucked-away spot, even though there seemed to be other tables available. Our food also took quite a while to arrive, and the sauces and spices we ordered with our meal weren’t brought out until well after the food had already been served. That said, the quality of most of the food was genuinely good, and you can tell care goes into the dishes. With friendlier service, better timing, and more attention to cooking the steak as requested, this could be a really great dining experience.
I loved how this place has great meat and its 100% halal so literally anyone can eat here. I dare say they are among the top 3 BBQ places in Edmonton. We got a stake and brisket. Although the stake was well done , you could still chew it and the favour is on point. I especially liked its gravy. The side was french fries and it was crispy and not oily at all. It was just perfect. The brisket was delicious too, the gravy was also wonderful, I wanted to get more of it to take it home lol. I got a pomegranate mohito that was very delicious too. The food was worth it and the service is great. I still believe its on the pricy side for the quantity but thats just my opinion, the taste is great so its worth it to try. For us , it'll be for special occasions. One star down for the price.
My nieces took me out for a late birthday this evening. I have always wanted to try this place out ever since it opened. The owner, Syed was very humble and recommended the three yard platter. A great server indeed. Well say no more as the platter was a hit! Portions were reasonable and the Twix milkshake was amazing! When the service and food are good, then you know it is worthy to come back again.
