Bon Ton Bakery

Absolutely love bon ton! They that the most beautiful and delicious cakes/desserts/cookies etc. Things I've only seen on cooking shows, I can buy and try there. One of my favorite things is that nothing seems overly sweetened. You taste the ingredients, not artificial garbage and overly sweet flavors. Highly recommend!

Bon Ton Bakery is one of my favourite bakeries in Edmonton. I have tried several items here and have enjoyed everything. Their country sourdough and alpine rye bread are excellent, and the Reuben is one of my favourites but they don’t have it all the time. I also absolutely love the scones. The tarts and flans are very good as well. The quality is consistently high, and everything tastes fresh. I always look forward to stopping by and trying something new. Highly recommend!

We have been coming to Bon Ton Bakery for many years, and it continues to be one of those Edmonton places we are always happy to return to. What has kept us coming back is not only the quality and freshness of the baking, but also the wonderful variety. Over the years, some of our favourites have included their raspberry cake, chocolate cake, brownies, flans and, of course, their croissants. We particularly enjoy that they offer two very different almond options: the classic Almond Croissant and the Amandine Croissant, which is double-baked, filled with almond cream and finished with a rum syrup. There always seems to be something familiar to return to as well as something new to discover. Another thing we really appreciate about Bon Ton is that it feels very connected to the local community. Alongside their own breads, pastries and cakes, they carry a good selection of products from other local businesses. It makes the shop convenient for picking up a few specialty items at the same time, but more importantly, we love seeing an established Edmonton business creating space for other local producers. The service has also been consistently excellent. Every staff member we have dealt with has been pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable. Whenever we have had questions about ingredients or dietary restrictions, they have never been brushed aside. Staff have taken the time to check, find the correct information and come back with an answer, always with a smile. That level of care is something we genuinely appreciate. After many years of visits, Bon Ton remains one of our favourite bakeries in Edmonton. Fresh and beautifully made pastries, an impressive selection, wonderful service and a genuine connection to the local community make it a place that continues to stand out.

I discovered this place before realizing its long nostalgic history and authority in authentic European bakery. I was simply searching for the best canelé in town — and this is the only place that truly has it. The canelé is the best I’ve ever had, even compared with those I’ve tried in many famous cities around the world. Finely- crispy crust and melt-in-the-mouth custard filling, with highly visible real vanilla beans. It also led me to discover that all of their other items are equally amazing. I’d especially like to highlight the flourless chocolate cake and the sliced brioche bread. The service is fantastic. The staff are very friendly, patient, and always able to give great recommendations across my last 4 visits in past 2 months. This shop has now become part of my weekly routine, and my goal is to try every single item. Edmonton should be proud to have this gem representing one of the professionalism of bakery of the city.

I recently discovered Bon Ton Bakery when I was looking for a cake for my mom's birthday. She has a strong sweet tooth, so I purchased 2 large cakes and several individual pastries to sample, along with some organic sourdough bread. I called to place an order for the cakes. The person I spoke to was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Both cakes (Raspberry Passion and Mocha Praline) along with the individual desserts and bread were absolutely delicious. But beyond the great service and tasty desserts, I truly appreciated their use of clean ingredients. No artificial flavors or colors, they use wholesome ingredients with names you actually recognize as food. I think we found our favorite Edmonton pastry shop and I look forward to trying all their offerings.
