The Butchery

The Butchery by Rge Road seems to wear a few hats, butcher, baker, but not a candlestick maker. The reason I say that, they’ve got a small lunch offering, dog bones, and a few other assorted items beyond the meat counter. Not a huge selection in any category, but that actually adds to the respect factor. You can tell they’re bringing in whole animals and using every part, and more than likely building those lunch items in-house from what they’ve sourced and prepared themselves. I’ll admit, I was a little wary of the prices at first. Then I tried the sausage roll, under six dollars, and probably the meatiest, richest one I’ve had. Excellent quality. Followed that up with what I believe was a mortadella sandwich, with some added ingredients, and it was fantastic. A very finely made mortadella. Both items were very fairly priced for the quality. Very impressed. Glad I walked in today. I don’t get to this part of the city often, but I’ll make a point of coming back.

This is our weekly butcher shop and genuinely one of our Edmonton treasures. The meat is always the freshest, best quality — every single time. We honestly joke that if we ever moved away, we wouldn’t even know what to eat anymore. The sausage rolls are a must, and they have the best Wagyu and regular steaks we’ve had in the city. Their chicken, turkey, and eggs are also consistently amazing. The staff are incredible too — always friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help us cut or portion the meat exactly how we want it. If you care about quality and service, this place is unmatched. We’ll keep coming back

Came to eat at the place on the recommendation of Rge Rd serving staff. Ordered the dry aged doublesmash burger, steak sandwich, and soup of the day. The dry aged doublesmash burger is honestly the best burger I've had to date. The beef is extremely well prepared, tender, and juicy. The steak sandwich is also excellent, especially with the herbs, sauce, and olive oil combo that was drizzled on top. However, the steak is cooked close to medium well to well done. It would be of been better if it was cooked to medium rare, definitely a request worth making.

I love the Butchery! We used to live closer, but now I have to drive across town to visit — but it's totally worth it! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, even when I'm asking very specific (or sometimes silly) questions. The quality of everything they sell is also amazing, and I'm always delighted. Also, whenever I go, I'm sure to pick up the dog treats too! Highly recommend!

The quality of the meat here is at the absolute highest level — perfectly aged, expertly prepared, and bursting with rich, natural flavor in every single bite.Highly recommended if you appreciate truly outstanding meat. Worth every penny and every extra minute of travel.
