A new option for authentic Chinese food on the Northside. They mainly focus on takeout but there are 2 small tables of 4 and 1 larger round table available. The owner was attentive and friendly. The food tasted good, a little on the pricey side but the portion sizes were large and we had leftovers to take home. Will definitely be back again.
Really enjoyed this place overall — the food was tasty, the restaurant was nice, and most dishes were great. My only disappointment was the Kung Pao chicken and the curry beef. The curry beef didn’t have much actual beef in it and felt mostly like bell peppers and onions in curry sauce. Same with the Kung Pao chicken — it just didn’t feel very authentic or flavorful compared to what I expected. I know we’re not in China, so I’m not expecting it to be exactly the same, but these two dishes personally weren’t for me and I probably wouldn’t order them again. Everything else was good though, and I’d still come back to try other dishes.
My new go to spot. I love Chinese food and this has to be my new favourite. They make such good food that I order once every two weeks. Portion size is huge too. Chicken chowmien, chicken in black bean sauce, ginger and green onion beef, yum yum chicken and egg fried rice. Got 2L pop without charge and 10% off 🙂
My Fiancé and I tried this place for the first time last week. An easy cautious order of their Shanghai noodles. This week we bought the Shanghai noodles again, the ginger beef, chicken balls, and green onion cakes. The Shanghai noodles are full of flavour, without being bogged down with excessive amounts of sauce. Their texture is great, and the dish leaves you full while also wanting more. The szechuan beef (ginger beef) is tender and flavourful. The vegetables mixed in with the beef were perfectly cooked retaining form and crunch while also being soft enough to not distract from the beef. The chicken balls lack the signature uniform shape you might be used to seeing. This is due to each one being hand crafted. The batter perfectly fried and layered to a perfect ratio between breading and meat. The green onion cakes are amongst the best I have ever tried. The fried dough is crisp without being dry, the green onion flavour stands out and is delicately mixed with a salty buttered finish. Overall, we are thrilled to finally have a GREAT Chinese restaurant close to home. If you are looking for a new chinese restarant, look no further you have found it. We will be back for more.
