Alberta Aviation Museum

I had a wonderful experience at the museum. Rick was kind enough to show me around, gear the visit to my specific interests and even threw in some jokes for free! I only wish I had organized myself to have been able to stay for longer. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. There is a bathroom on site. The gift shop has some cool things. I highly recommend a visit for newbies in Edmonton!

This is one of the must visit destinations in Edmonton especially if you like historical planes and the history of Canadian aviation. Although it is smaller than what I had expected, it still has some great models of older Airplanes on display. The museum is accessible by bus and has enough parking available as well.

What an interesting place. They don't just have details of the planes. They have pioneering stores of early 1920 bush flight into the most hospitable winter conditions. I loved it.

For families, there are interactive flight simulators and hands-on activities that allow children to experience aviation in a playful way. There’s even a creative corner where kids can color aviation-themed drawings with crayons — a thoughtful touch that keeps younger visitors engaged. Overall, the number of aircraft on display is impressive, and the museum conveys a powerful sense of Canada’s aviation heritage and innovation. It’s both educational and inspiring. Walking through the exhibits truly gives you a sense of how aviation shaped the country’s development and how technology once led to remarkable achievements.

Loved it. There are so many exhibits and most of them have scenery with them. Plus anywhere that has a mosquito and a B25 is worth visiting. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.
