Took my dog Biscuit along last weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find the grounds around the Prince of Wales Armouries so welcoming to four-legged visitors. The building itself is stunning, this gorgeous century-old red brick fortress that makes for a really dramatic backdrop while you walk the perimeter. Staff outside were genuinely friendly and even stopped to chat about the history of the place while Biscuit got some pets. If you're in the area on a Saturday morning, it's a lovely low-key spot to stretch your legs and soak in some Edmonton history without the crowds.

Jiajia, the community archivist, invited me to visit her Archives office at Prince of Wales Armouries, located on the second floor of the shared building. The Archives preserves the life stories of diverse people in Edmonton and how their heritage has shaped the city into what it is today. My visit to the Archives was fun, heartwarming, and truly meaningful. Something I will continue to share with my family, friends, and neighbors. It also gave me a new appreciation for preserving personal memories and belongings that can leave a trace for future generations to discover and cherish. -THANK you JiaJia for a lovely tour you gave me and I am super excited to return next with with my friends.

Free entry to this very historic place. Exhibits displayed on the ground floor corner of the building, lots of info and artefacts throughout WW1 & 2. Well worth a visit on Canada Day.

It is Indeed a wonderful place to visit. I went with my 6 yrs old daughter and was amazed to see the way staff entertained us with games, historical explations of incidents. We got military costume and clicked few photos as well. Staff was supportive and articulative beyond our expectation. I recommend everyone to have experience.

I visited the inside of the Prince of Wales Armouries several years ago when I lived in Edmonton. I was impressed with the artifacts this museum carries, but I am saddend that someone or some people decided to steal over half of the letters/numbers off their vintage sign just south of the parking lot. I hope that they can manufacture a sign that is theft-proof and perhaps catch the perpetrators responsible for the vandalism of this vintage sign. Some people just have no respect, and don't care about others. Leave it alone, and find your scrap elsewhere. Not by vandalizing and stealing from others. Search the bins like everyone else, but stay out of them when a truck rolls by.
