Grand Prix Auto Collision Repair & Painting

For anyone whom this could benefit… I purchased the ‘after-market carbon fibre hood’ from a Chinese (Alibaba) factory for my 2025 WRX VB tS. They fit great and visually compared to Siebon hoods, they look identical. You do save coin, mostly because these hoods are not pure wet carbon fibre weave. They are actually a top layer of real carbon fiber cloth bonded to a fiberglass (FRP - fiber-reinforced polymer) or composite skeleton frame using wet-layup polyester or epoxy resin. I’m writing this post for those that are thinking to order a hood from Alibaba. I’d say go for it, you save about $1000, the wait time was 4 weeks. The only issue I had was that oddly, the hood-strut attachment points on the underside are off by about 2 inches. So I took the car to Grand Prix Auto in Edmonton, AB, and these guys attached the struts and reinforced the attachment area. Great job in my opinion, and the team there are more a family than co-workers. The pins are set through both a large washer as well as a rubber washer to offset the pressure point. I did order a far lower pressure hood-strut for this hood, I didn’t use the OEM. If you do go with one of these hoods, be sure to PPF it when you get it as to avoid rock chipping and sun bleaching. And obviously the guys at Grand Prix Auto are now well versed in making the adjustments!! Job well done!! Pictures attached.

Best body shop in the city. They are professional but also able to explain everything in layman's terms while being extremely personable. They are quick, went in for an estimate, put in a down payment for parts, and once I dropped off my vehicle, the work was done in a day. Can't comment on their pricing, because I asked for original parts, but it was still within my range. They ordered the parts, painted them to perfection and installed all within 48 hours. Remarkable staff and quality of work. 10 outta 10. Would recommend to anyone who needs some body work done.

Hady was amazing to deal with from start to finish. During the initial damage estimate, he took the time to explain everything clearly and was incredibly kind and patient. He never made me feel stupid for asking questions and made sure I fully understood the process every step of the way. He was very hands-on and thorough in making sure the paint match was absolutely perfect. If anything changed during the repair process, he immediately notified both me and my insurance company before moving forward with any additional work. The entire experience was very transparent, which I really appreciated. He also handled everything directly with my insurance company, which made the process completely stress-free and pain free. That’s not something you can usually say when insurance is involved. I highly recommend this shop and would absolutely return in the future!

Customer service is extremely important to me. When I walk into a business and don’t receive great service, I simply choose not to give them my business. That being said, this place is absolutely amazing. They truly go above and beyond for their clients. The team is incredibly friendly, proactive, and knowledgeable — they really know their business inside and out. My car was repaired correctly, at a fair price, and completed right on time. If you’re looking for a trustworthy place to get your car fixed, I highly recommend bringing it here. You won’t be disappointed!
