I started coming to this location years ago when it operated as “Gold’s Gym”. What attracted me then was the massive size of the space, and large selection of Hammer Strength equipment. Today, operating as “GYMVMT”, the space is still massive and Hammer Strength equipment are still plentiful. It’s great, never feels too crowded even if it’s busy. Working in downtown, the commute to Westmount (after work) is not too bad either. The front desk staff also deserve recognition. They are always in a positive mood when greeting you, creating a warm and welcoming environment each time you visit — keep it up, we (members) really do appreciate this!
I've been a member of this gym for quite a while, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The central location is incredibly convenient and only minutes from my house, which makes it easy to stay consistent with my workouts. The equipment is always well maintained, clean, and in great working condition. It's also great to see that they're continually investing in the facility by adding new equipment and upgrading the gym. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Every single team member is fantastic—friendly, approachable, professional, and always willing to help. They create a welcoming atmosphere that makes a world of difference and makes coming to the gym an enjoyable experience. I’d recommend GYMVYNT Westmount to anyone looking for a clean, well-equipped facility with outstanding customer service. Keep up the great work!
Paid for a full year upfront — which, oddly, they seemed reluctant to let me do. Now I understand why. Not a single piece of communication the entire year. No check-ins, no renewal reminder, nothing. Then, instead of a simple "your membership is expiring," they waited until after my membership lapsed and hit me with an invoice. I was actually planning to renew — but that move was so transparently manipulative it changed my mind. You didn't need to trick me. I was already a willing customer. It got worse. I went in to pay the renewal fee anyway and asked to speak with a manager. Conveniently, none was available, but they took my number and promised a callback. It never came. Then I was told I also owed a separate bi-weekly membership payment, followed by another invoice for another renewal. This is predatory billing dressed up as customer service. Why would anyone want to stay loyal to a business they can't trust? I took my membership elsewhere and I'd recommend anyone considering GYMMVMT do the same.
I usually go to the women's only location in tamarack but after grabbing a burger close to West Mount I decided to try this location. Sort of odd to enter through a mall but no big deal (although be aware if you leave after the mall closes you should be parking in the lot closest to the gym entrance). Mack and the other employee (sorry didn't get her name) were helpful and friendly when I came in as I didn't know if my membership allowed me to visit all locations. Mack gave me a quick tour of the gym and I generally had a good experience. I would recommend labelling the random doors in the women's change room (bit of a labyrinth in there) as "storage" or whatever they are so it feels a bit more comfortable.
I wanted to come on here and point out how amazing Alyssa is everytime I come to the gym! At the front desk of the gym she is kind and goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. She never misses saying goodbye, no matter how busy she is, which really brightens people’s days. Her genuine warmth and attentiveness create a positive atmosphere that makes the gym experience better for everyone. Alyssa’s kindness and dedication truly make her a standout part of the team.
