It took a while but finally made it. Great body builder gym that has a posing room. Super staff. And, they had an old school pull-over machine! Close to West Edmonton Mall!
really wanted to like this gym, but unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives. On the positive side, I like the hours, the location is close to home, and there are a few unique pieces of equipment that I hadn't seen or used before. However, with several newer gyms opening in the area, many of them offer similar equipment and amenities. One of my biggest concerns is the condition of the equipment. Many machines are very old, with ripped seats and worn padding (for example, the leg extension machine). Some equipment is even rusted. While there are a few newer pieces, the majority appear outdated. It's not necessarily a dealbreaker, but advertising the gym as having state-of-the-art, premium equipment feels misleading. I also found the equipment selection somewhat limited. There are several machines and training options I've used at other gyms that aren't available here. The cardio section is small and lacks variety, and there is only one squat rack. What bothered me most was the lack of space. The photos make the gym appear much larger than it actually is. In reality, the equipment is packed closely together, and you're often working out right beside other members. In some areas, I had to step into the space of neighboring machines just to load or unload weights. I avoided peak hours, but I can only imagine how crowded it gets. Once there are even 10 or so people in the gym, it starts to feel very cramped. Some people may not mind that, but I prefer a little more personal space when I work out. Another major issue is the lack of air conditioning. During hot weather, the gym becomes uncomfortably warm, and a few fans are not enough. I prefer to train in a climate-controlled environment, and this gym simply doesn't provide that. Cleanliness was also disappointing. The spray bottles appear to contain only water rather than proper disinfectant, and many of the bottles are broken. There are often no paper towels available. I rarely saw anyone wiping down equipment, but even if they did, wiping with water alone isn't very effective. The floors are dirty, and overall the facility does not appear to be cleaned regularly. Finally, members frequently leave weights on machines and fail to return attachments to their proper places, which adds to the overall lack of organization. I left after a few months and I have found another gym that meets my needs.
Came in for a free day to test the gym out. Overall experience was excellent. Staff are great and showed me around the gym before I got to my workout. The equipment is also just as amazing. Will definitely be getting a membership here
The Den has an atmosphere that makes you want to train hard the moment you walk through the doors. The energy is contagious, the members are focused, and it's the kind of gym that motivates you to push for that extra rep The equipment selection is second to none. There's everything you could possibly need—and then some. The quality, variety, and upkeep of the equipment are outstanding. If you're serious about training and want a gym that matches that mindset, The Den sets the standard.
Walking in feels like walking into a large garage gym with top notch equipment. It never really too busy, and everyone is really nice and inviting. One of the only businesses I have ever noticed really takes into account what their members are looking for in an experience. Improved change rooms and a finalized layout that flows smoothly made this 100% the best gym in Edmonton. The Den genuinely has the "it" everyone is looking for
